Is the .65 blue line stronger than the gray line that came with my 40v Grenworks product. I'm getting a lot of line breakage and having to remove spool and feed out new line. Can i use .80 or .95 replacement line??

Asked by: Boobarf
Hello Boobarf, The blue line is am older line design and the new ones are the gray line. If your trimmer can only take .065 it will not be able to handle thicker line. If you use thicker line it will affect the life span of the unit and the performance. Here's some tips on how to reduce line breakage: Ensure you're not touching hard surfaces when using the string trimmer. If you make contact with a hard surface area such as the side walk, this will break off the line. Make sure the cutting blade on the guard is exposed and the you're using the guard. Reduce the line extension. The more often you start and stop the unit the longer the trimmer line gets. Following the above steps should help to alleviate some of the line breakage you're experiencing. We hope this information has helped.

Hi- Is the plastic line biodegradable/environmentally friendly? Thanks!

Asked by: Gina
Hello there, No unfortunately this string is not biodegradable, however our string trimmers are able to use any generic cutting line as long as it matches the line diameter requirement.

How to replace

Asked by: Jjayy1
Hello there, Please see the instructions below on how to refill the spool and how to replace the spool: To replace the spool: 1. Replace the spool with a new pre-wound spool. 2. Insert the end of line through the opening in the spool housing. 3. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the slots in the spool housing on the trimmer head. 4. Push down on the spool cover locking it to the spool housing. 5. To advance the line when initially installed, you must pull the line while pressing the black line release button on the side of the spool housing. To refill the spool: 1. Cut a length of 1/16" (1.65 mm) nylon monofilament line approximately 18’ (5.5 m) long. 2. Insert end of line into the small hole to anchor the line. 3. Wind the line evenly and tightly in a clockwise direction. 4. DO NOT wind the line beyond the edge of the spool. 5. Insert the line through hole in the spool housing. 6. Position line spool in spool housing.
