Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful yet compact This is a good compact lawn mower. I was restricted shipping lithium batteries so I purchased this one instead of lithium (I recommend cordless, but this is perfect for smaller yards). It is powerful enough for wet thick grass and has decent capacity for its size. I like how easy it folds and compact it is (small yard=small storage space).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok, while I’m here I’ll write a review… 3 years ago we moved into a house from the city… big mistake… but I had to mow my new to me 1/3 acre with something… I found this beauty on the line for a bit over a hundo.. I figured if it wasn’t good it wasnt a huge investment… I was never a fan of gas mowers, electric mowers or mowing for that matter… our new house is in the hill towns of Westchester, what a pain.. my front yard is only good for 2 things… growing weeds in the summer and sledding in the winter…This little green devil is light.. I figured on a hill ya don’t want heavy…so true… Oh, and it cuts like a trained assassin! Neighbors ask what kind of mower does such clean work.. And I have abused this thing, accidentally sent it down my back hill careening over rocks and over a 3 foot wall… I cursed while taps played in my head .. but she was still good…not a crack and started right up… It mulches more stuff than I should let it…I’m positive I’m breaking those rules. This year I bought a replacement blade cause I bent the orig on a big rock…I have a lot of rocks…and stumps, too… I hit them … never on purpose…sometimes it’ll stop the motor…but she starts right back up again and again and again…. Positives - inexpensive, light weight, tough and a great cutter / mulcher. Negatives - stupid cord … takes getting used to but way better than gas for my porpoises! I am thinking of buying another one and keep this one just for mulching. That’s why I was on this site today… not to write a review…

Hello rb2616, Thank you for your question! See the steps below to add string to the spool. Should you have any additions questions do not hesitate to contact us at 1-888-909-6757 for assistance. SPOOL REPLACEMENT (See Pages 19, 20, 21 in the owner’s) 1. Press the tabs simultaneously on the side of the trimmer head and remove cover and spool. 2. Remove coil protection from the spool. 3. Remove any remaining line. 4. Clean dirt and debris from all parts. Replace spool if it is worn or damaged. 5. Insert one line into the anchor hole in the upper part of the spool while the other line into the anchor hole in the bottom part of the spool. Wind the lines clockwise around the spool simultaneously, as shown by the arrows on the spool. 7. Wind the lines clockwise around the spool simultaneously, as shown by the arrows on the spool. Tab Cover Coil Protection Spool. 8. Position the lines in the guide slots. 9. Install the coil protection on the spool. Make sure the end of the cutting line is extended from the slots of the coil protection. 10. Place the spring in the trimmer head with its small end upward. I accidentally cut my extension cord and need to get a new one for this exact model. Bought two new Cords neither work. What exact type of cord do l need to buy (heavy/medium/light duty) plus what gauge and amp will work on this 16amp 10 gauge mower?

Asked by: Lc92
Hello Lc92, Depending on the length of extension cord required it should fall within these specifications: A 100’ (30 m) extension cord should be 14 AWG, a 50’ (15 m) extension cord should be 16 AWG, and a 150’ (45 m) extension cord should be 12 AWG. Undersized cords cause a drop in the line voltage, which leads to a loss of power and overheating. Here are a few other suggestions to check: 1) That you are using a working outlet. 2) When starting the lawnmower, start by pressing and holding the start button down for ~3 seconds then while still holding the start button down pull back the bail lever towards the handle with your opposite hand. Once the unit has started, you can release the start button and simply hold back the bail for continued operation.

I am on my second 10 amp corded 16" Lawn mower. The first one was returned because it was cutting deeper on the right side. I received the second one and still having the same problem. Has anyone had this problem?

Asked by: JMFL
Hello JMFL, We are sorry to hear about this experience. When the lawn is being cut uneven, this can indicate a few different things. The first being that the lawn itself is rough or uneven. However, if this is not the case then it is possible that the grass is too tall, or the cutting height is set too low for the type of grass. Try raising the cutting height and reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months. If you have tried these suggestions, try having a look underneath of the mower deck and ensure that there has been no damage to the motor shaft, fan, blade, blade washer/insulator or the bolt. If any of these parts have been damaged or thrown off balance this will result in an even cut and likely, a noticeable vibration while in use. If this issue persists, please call us at 1-888-909-6757 or via email at info@greenworkstools.com and we would be happy to investigate this issue further with you.

Can any kind of extension cord be used

Asked by: Meandonlyme
Hello Meandonlyme, When using an extension cord, be sure to use one of heavy enough gauge to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause overheating. The extension cord you purchase for this product must fall within these specifications: For a 50' (15 m) cord, use 16 AWG. For a 100' (30 m) cord, use 14 AWG. For a 150' (45 m) cord, use 12 AWG. More information can be found inside the owner's manual.
