Best trimmerBest corded trimmer I have. Better than Black & Decker, Ryobi. Only i don't like the white string loaded with the machine. Why a good machinegun goes with bad bullets?

Powerful and Easy to UseThis is 2nd time purchasing this trimmer, so I can use 2 different head attachments. If you don’t plan to use it daily (commercially) or have hours worth of trimming then you won’t mind the extension cord. No fuel to mess with. Plug in and go!

Do you sell a replacement spool of the nylon string?
Asked by: Flagg
Hello Flagg,
Spools are not sold separately. The trimmer head goes by 31108836 and may be purchased using the following link: https://greenworks.ordertree.com/sun-31108836.html or through our helpline at 1-888-909-6757.
Alternatively, you can rewind the string. To replace the string, start by removing the spool cover to expose the spool and take it out. From there, you're going to get a .080" diameter string and fold it in half. You'll notice on the center plastic piece that divides the top and bottom portion of the spool that there is a small cut-out/groove where the string can be looped into at that mid-point where you folded the string in half. With one half of the string in the top portion of the spool and the other in the bottom, look at the directional arrow on the top of the spool and slowly wind the string into place.

Can a metal blade be attached rather than the plastic spool,
Asked by: es127
Hello es127,
While we cannot advise switching out just the head, you may purchase a lower shaft brush cutter attachment from Ryobi such as model 29057.

i recently purchased the string trimmer electric 21142 . I cannot remove the spool cover. The manual mentions pushing tabs on the sides of the spool retainer at the same time. Mine has a black bump not green. video?
Asked by: jahall
Hello jahall,
Unfortunately, we do not have a video of this task. The tabs are located on the piece of plastic that the spool cover sits on, halfway between the holes where the strings come out on each side. If you require further assistance, please contact us directly at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). We're happy to help!
