Rated 5 out of 5 by from More convenient than a gas trimmer Purchased this along with an 10" Greenworks string trimmer to take care of a one acre colonial era cemetery in Connecticut. Works well around all the gravestones and shrubbery. Already have replaced the string spool due to my heavy usage of the trimmer. Also bought a 3 pack of Greenworks replacement spools since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of trimming this year. Found it simple to install the replacement spool. A lot easier to carry around a large area than a heavy gas trimmer since I'm 63 years old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cordless string trimmer Replacing my old greenworks corded trimmer with battery model. Only complaint with the old was cord hassles. Battery model makes yard work peachy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 24V 12 " Trimmer/Edger This edger is great! The wheel makes it possible to produce a straight vertical trimmed edge, making everything easy and neat! Less noise is a real treat as well! I'm very happy with the length of time the battery holds a charge, enabling me to finish all the trimming on a 1/2 acre lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool Little Machine Although the trimmer is very light, the placement of the motor gives it a good heft and balance. The motor has decent power and end enough battery life for my modest-sized yard. GreenWorks also sent me a 10% off coupon, which made it better!

We bought the greenworks pro 60 volt lithium max lawnmower, 69 volt lithium max snowblower and the pro rotor tiller. We have a 60 volt 5.0 and 60 volt 2.5 that we can use interchangeably. Will we be able to use either battery with this trimmer?

Asked by: Len22
Hello Len22, Thank you for asking. We are pleased that you are looking to expand your line of Greenworks tools. Unfortunately, this string trimmer would not be compatible with your existing battery models. Your battery models can, however, be used with all Greenworks 60V tools! Here is a link to our 60V string trimmers: https://www.greenworkstools.com/shop-by-voltage/60v/60v-string-trimmers

HELP!  I bought a Greenworks 24V 12 inch string trimmer and the 2nd time I used it the head fell off.  I took it apart and the bolt on post that should be tight was completely off.  Any suggestion on how to tighten this effectively down the narrow post?

I have the Pro 60V Cordless 17" Lawn Mower w/ 4.0 Ah Battery SKU: 2523502.  Will the battery for my lawn more be compatible with this trimmer?

Asked by: TexasGreenThumb
Hello TexasGreenThumb, Thank you for your question! Model 2100302 is part of our 24V Platform. You would need a 60V battery and charger for the 60V lawn mower. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another.

were do I go to buy replacment string

Asked by: Sassy
Hello there, You may rewind your existing spool using a .065" trimmer line, which can be found at most hardware stores. Alternatively, you may purchase pre-wound spools using the following link: https://www.greenworkstools.com/0-065inch-string-trimmer-replacement-spools-3-pack-1#gw_specs

After charging overnight, the trimmer lasts for 10 seconds before it dies. We purchased in on the 15th.

Asked by: MartyK01
Hello MartyK01, We would suggest making sure the battery is showing fully charged on both the charger and on the battery, in the event the charger is showing a false reading. Make sure that the battery is fully inserted in the battery compartment (You should hear a loud audible click once in place). Re-try starting the string trimmer. If after attempting these you are still having problems please contact our helpline at 1-888-909-6757, so we may assist in resolving the issue. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

I have model stg309 edger/trimmer. How do I get the string to come out? I have to manually remove the string container and pull it out every time. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Asked by: gardenertommy
Hello gardentommy, Thank you for your question. If the string is not feeding this could indicate that there is not enough line or a tangle on the spool. Please remove the battery, remove the spool cover and spool, unwind the spool and rewind, ensuring that the line is not tangled. To advance the line, stop and restart the trimmer. Upon starting, the line will automatically advance 1/4" (6.4 mm). Each time you want to advance the line you must release the trigger for about two seconds and upon starting line should advance. Should you still require further assistance, we would be interested in hearing more about this issue. Please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Just received trimmer model#2100302 and I must return because I got the wrong voltage for my current system which works off the 40 Volt battery.Problem is I can't detach the upper arm, (part #4 from lower handle#5). Why won't it come out?(-:

Asked by: Tony H
Hello Tony H - We are sorry to hear that the wrong trimmer was purchased for your battery. To disconnect the shafts, loosen the collar and release the clamp and twist shafts apart. If they will not separate, it's possible that there is a small metal button that needs to be pushed in order for the two shafts to release. For further assistance, please contact us by sending us an email through the customer contact page.
