Rated 5 out of 5 by from 40V String Trimmer (tool only) I love this string trimmer because it's powerful, easy to restring, and works with the same batteries I already had for my chainsaw and hedge trimmer. When it comes down to the heavy stuff, you can push a button for even more power. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greenworks 40V cordless trimmer This is my second trimmer, had the first one for many years and just wore it out. I have multiple attachments even one from a craftmans rototiller. Very please with the Greenworks line of tools, but my favorite is the little power shovel, great for cleaning snow off the deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice mid-range cordless I bought this to replace my Greenworks 80V trimmer that was stolen from my yard. It's lighter but still powerful and has a pretty good line feeder. I like that it shares a battery with my Greenworks mower and it is more than adequate for my small yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Great! easy to put together and use. i got this after i bought the lawn mower with the same battery, so i just needed the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for a simple light job. Works great! Easy and convenient to use. I have used string trimmers like this before but this is the first one I've ever owned, and I love it. With this I am able to do a complete edge trim of about 500ft length with 1 40V 2Amp battery.

I love the trimmer, but I do not like having to buy a new $30 replacement trimmer head every fall season because the spool cap wears out. Why is there not a replacement spool cap?

Asked by: Ed78
Hello Ed78, We thank you for sharing your concern. This trimmer head was not made with separate parts. The rate at which each customer will have to replace their head varies depending on factors such as the material it is being bumped off, how hard it is being bumped, the frequency of use, and more. Replacing the trimmer head is a part of string trimmer maintenance and it should always be inspected before use to make sure it is still in good condition.

If I am using this 40V 14' brushless string trimmer to cut grass that is against a wall, what is going to prevent the string from hitting the wall when I am right against it?  Isn't this usually when the string becomes disattached?

Asked by: GrassWarrior
Hello GrassWarrior, There is nothing that will prevent the string from hitting the wall. Be sure to pay attention to how long the string is and try to keep it close but not directly against the surface to avoid damage and premature line breakage.

How do I restring the bumper spool?  Have looked all over and can’t find clear cut instructions.

Asked by: Vonnie
Hello Vonnie, Here is a video that demonstrates how easy it is to rewind the spool on this trimmer head! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN7AWcI9wvY There are two methods by which the trimmer line can be replaced. You will need approximately 15' of trimmer line at .080" inches in diameter. For the first method: Note the hash mark on the knob and the hash mark on the spool cover, while holding the spool cover in place with one hand, turn the knob until the hash mark line up with the hash mark on the spool cover. Then take the trimmer line and feed it through one of the holes in the side of the head until there is an even amount on both sides. Then wind the line into the spool by turning the knob clockwise. If you wish to readjust the line or if the line has been wound too short, push down on the knob and wind it counterclockwise. Be sure to leave about 5 inches of slack on each side of the spool. Second method: Remove the spool cover by simultaneously pushing the two tabs located on side of the spool cover. The cover should spring off, lift the spool out and feed line through the hole in the center of the spool until you get an even amount of line on each side. Put the spool back in the trimmer head, making sure that both sides of the line go back into the grooves in the trimmer head, continue to hold the spool in place. Take the spool cover and put it back onto the trimmer, using both hands press down firmly to ensure that the taps lock into place, you can now rotate the knob on the spool clockwise to rewind the line back in making sure to leave the 5 inches of line on each side of the spool. We hope this helps! For further assistance, please give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 or submit an email to info@greenworkstools.com.

My 40 v 2100202 trimmer came with a filled replacement spool. But I can't see how to attach it. Does the bumper on the original spool come apart?

Asked by: TJVxxx
Hello TJVxxx, This style of trimmer head does not have a pre-wound spool that comes seperate. We would be interested in investigating this further with you. Please contact us for further assistance at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or by sending an email to info@greenworkstools.com.
