Rated 1 out of 5 by from Actually Returning I rarely return items. ..I try to make them work. And I absolutely love my Greenworks cordless lawnmower but this weedeater isn't nearly of the same quality. It doesn't have enough of a protective shield and if you use the double line you end up with little cuts. Be sure to wear gloves and glasses. The motor heated up very quickly. And the line would not automatically advance. Love the mower, returning the trimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is not your grand dads battery trimmer I have a number of Green works tools (pole saw, chain saw and blower) and recently added this string trimmer. I am very pleased thus far. It has plenty of power and on a full charge and runs for as long as I want to work. My trimmer came with an extra spool, but since it is new I have not needed it, but I thought that was a nice 'value added' item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Great trimmer at first till one side of the string runs out and the only remaining line , wrapped up between feeder head and electric motor, and then on top it the c ring retaining clip has holes so small you can't remove the head to untie the bird nest knots it's ties in the unbreakable trimmer line ( quarter million dollars in tools ) outdoor power equipment repair technician not a single tool to remove head and consumer bringing this in for me to repair , step up your game make this impossible to happen in the future or use normal readily available parts to assemble these products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and value Bought this trimmer to work with my Greenworks GMAX mower. Batteries are intechangeable. The trimmer and battery with charger is an exceptional value. Trimmer has power and durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works! I bought this a year ago and had not used it much til last few months. I do not like weed trimming but this thing is great! Light and quiet! It seems well built and will last. Beats the heck out of loud gas powered line trimmers. I don't care for the auto line feeder, would rather have the old tried and proven bump feed. But that is personal preference and has nothing to do with how well this works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped Working Used it for a year. Worked Great. This year, I pull the trigger - crickets. Battery fully charged, seated properly. Maybe the switch broke? In any case - can't recommend this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cuts well, string feed horrid To advance the string you have to turn it over, put your fingers in the grass and poison ivy juice, push a cramped button and advance it a quarter inch. Or take the head apart and move it as far as you need, put head back together. Quiet weed eating, no gas is great when putting it in the car. 4.0 AhBattery lasts over an hour.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than gas Very nice tool, It works every bit as well as a small gas trimmer. My yard is a littke over 1/2 acre and I have yet to run out of battery. The only complaint I would have is that it is a little out of balance. The string head is a little heavy. The pivoting head and edging wheel help a lot.

I have a Greenworks 60 volt mower. I wish to buy a trimmer which also uses a 60 volt battery. Can I buy the trimmer WITHOUT a battery?

Asked by: Saladman
Yes, Greenworks manufactures "tool only" 60-Volt String Trimmers. Simply follow the link here to view our 60-Volt line: https://www.greenworkstools.com/shop-by-voltage/60v/60v-string-trimmers

I already own the blower, battery, and charger model # 24102a. Is there a current trimmer only model that i can use that battery with?

Asked by: rkschuck
Hello rkschuck, Unfortunately, model 24102A is an older model and does not currently work with any of our GreenWorks G-Max 40v lines that are available. We no longer off this line in the United States.

Do you make a replacement head that actually works.

Asked by: Ray v
Hello Ray v, The issue often stem from the users understanding of auto-feed units. Auto-feed units feed out 1/4" of line each time the trigger is squeezed and released. This is industry standard and how auto-feed works on all units listed as auto-feed. Unlike the bump feed where you would bump the knob on the ground to extend line. We hope this information has helped. Auto-feed units feed out 1/4" of line each time the trigger is squeezed and released.
