can this model be used with older gas power weed eater type attachments ? i have several attachments, Edger, chain saw, blower, that are still good. thanks.

Asked by: fredg
Hello, Thank you for your question. This string trimmer is not attachment capable so it would not work with the specified attachments. However, our attachment capable units are compatible with attachments from most brands using a universal connection.

Love the weed eater but since the head can't be switched with a brush blade do you have a compatible brush adaptor that will fit, replacing part of the shaft?

Asked by: Jef_f
Hello Jef_f, The motor is located on the bottom of the shaft. The trimmer head is fixed and cannot be removed. Please feel free to contact us at info@greenworkstools.com for more information.

How do I rewind the cord?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Mary, If you're finding it hard to rewind the spool yourself we recommend these prewound replacement spools. https://www.greenworkstools.com/bump-feed-replacement-spool-2936602 Otherwise the instructions for winding the existing spool is located inside your owner's manual.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well, Spare Parts...Not So Much. Have no major complaints with the Greenworks product's functionality. I own the leaf blower, hedge trimmer and string trimmer (all 60 amp). My first hedge trimmer stopped working due to a broken part in the trimming mechanism. Of course, I was out of warranty by 6 months, so just "bit the bullet" and bought another one (w/o battery). My only complaint is the apparent lack of spare parts for the string trimmer (specifically, the bump mechanism/string holder). I'm hoping it is just another victim of Covid-19 manufacturing/import slowdowns. I would hate to think I'd have to purchase another unit, if one of those parts break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to use, and light. When my gas trimmer died three years ago, one of the shops where I tried to get it fixed suggested I consider an electric, even though he didn't sell or service electrics. I had never even considered it, but on his suggestion, I purchased a Greenworks 60V trimmer with a brushless motor. My house sits on a 1/4 acre lot, so I'm able to get through all the trimming on a single charge, even though the whole back yard has a wooden fence. If I trim all the sidewalks and curb at the front of the house, I do need an extra charge. Six months after purchasing my trimmer, the switch became intermittent. Sometimes the trimmer just wouldn't run, then suddenly it would begin running. I suspected the problem to be with the electronics, not the switch. I called Greenworks, and they quickly shipped me a brand new unit. I haven't had any trouble since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very powerful I have many areas that I wanted to trim that are located far from an electrical outlet and I was tired of dragging 200 feet of cord around bushes and then having my corded trimmer run slower. I have a 60 V lawnmower and chain saw so decided to add the string trimmer. I was pleased that it was relatively light and well balanced. I was absolutely amazed at how powerful it is. I now can walk my yard and in half the time trim around all my landscape ties and trees. I can also now reach along the curb and get that desired well trimmed lawn. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable Length and much more quiet! This was another one of my Mother's Day gifts (Yes, I LOVE yard work!) that we decided to purchase because the price was right with the battery, even though I already have another brand. Good to have back up! It is a bit taller as well, which is good after a couple of back surgeries. Bonus: Quiet motor in comparison to old weed eater, doesn't upset the dogs or cats =)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor design The first one caught a piece of fishing line in the business end and quit working. I was told that that was not usually covered under warranty but the replaced it any way. Good Deal, Huh? The replacement caught a piece of elecdtric fence wire that was hiding in the grass. The same thing happened as the first. The trimmer was not operable. This time I was told to stick it you know where.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average trimmer I recently upgraded all of my yard tools to the Greenworks 60v system. The decision was really drive by the 25” mower and I also have the blower and hedge trimmer. This is a very basic trimmer. I need two 2 AHr batteries to trim my 1/2 acre yard. The trimmer is heave and doesn’t offer much handle placement adjustment and doesn’t have a shoulder strap. It is listed as a 13” trimmer, but comes set at 11”, which was worthless. It functions fine, but my decision was really based off the mower being my priority tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best weed eater I've ever bought I bought this weed eater about three years ago, I got tired of mixing fuel and every time i got the gas weed eater out to use, it was a challenge to get it running and not vapor lock. Now with this weed eater it is no problem run work great and is as powerful as the gas powered one I have. Since getting this, I got a 60v leaf blower, and a 40v self propelled lawn mower, and a 40v pole tree trimmer. They all work very well and I tell everyone to get these battery powered lawn equipment and how great it is

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greenworks cordless trimmer! The Greenworks Cordless trimmer, is a great tool to clean up your yard! It is a very effective weed eater, trimming inaccessible area's of your yard! With care, you can use it to work the areas next to your driveway and sidewalk. Use the batteries that these tools use, and you do not have to store gas in your garage, nor need gas treatment for off season storage! Install the charged battery and you are ready to go! a single battery charge will go thru your job and more! You will love the convince!
