Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm done with gas engines! From the point of view of an occasional homeowner use, the Greenworks 80v chainsaw is certainly more than capable of cutting logs. The most striking feature is the silence in-between cuts, this is something to behold...you can't believe it until you witness it yourself. It's bizarre to be cutting logs, and put down the chainsaw for a moment and hear birds chirping. I loved my orange colored pro equipment, but I'm over the pull start, gas smell, and noise. Within a week of this purchase I bought the Greenworks 80v leaf blower and my other orange blower is on the shelf, I gave the chainsaw away. I look forward to moving all my gas powered equipment to this 80v world.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reduce your carbon footprint - for the manliest man to small women I love this saw. So easy to start and reliable. First time out I was able to nearly cut up a full Ash tree that was maybe 14" in diameter. The 2.5Ah battery recharges in 30 minutes. I later bought a 4.0 Ah battery but have as yet used it. I also got a harness when it was on sale to hold the larger battery since I am a lightweight female of 5'4" and weigh only 105#. I do still have and use the 18" Husquervarna but not unless I am in the woods and the battery was used up and don't want to go back for the other one (actually, am waiting for the harness for it). I initially wanted to order the 18" to replace the Husky, but they were out of stock. Now I am actually happy I got the other size. Don't hesitate to get this saw. Do note that the company is hard to reach if you need to which is not good. They should work on customer service with a human.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than ATLAS chainsaw. This 16 inch 80v GREENWORKS chainsaw is much better than the 40v kATLAS 16 inch Chainsaw. I purchased the 40 volt ATLAS from Harbor Freight the performance was longer with the 80volt (48 minutes) and recharging quick (54 minutes). The chain kept loosening up on the ATLAS even though I tightened it to the point of almost stripping the threads. The GW had no problem with the chain. The GW cut through an old oak log like butter cutting cross-cut. I returned the ATLAS and will be keeping the GW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's so easy, I fell in love I seldom used our gas-powered chainsaw, maybe because it was scary but also because it was difficult to start and often needed carburetor repair from non-use (My bad!). So the Chainworks 80-volt is just what I needed: easy to start, no carburetor, and powerful enough to cut up large trees and cracked branches. After a heavy and wet snowstorm, I can go out and cut the broken limbs. After a windstorm downed a large tree in our front yard, I could cut it up into split-able pieces for firewood. The pile of dead branches is easily split for burning. No muss. No fuss. No gasoline-mixing. No fear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 80V 16" Chainsaw - So far great addition So far, I have used it for about an hour and it worked very well. Light weight easy to turn and maneuver around thick branches. Only disappointment is that the on/off safety handle in the front seems to be light weight plastic, not sure how durable it is going to be with extend use of the chainsaw. Time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and no gas! This is so much better than trying to keep my gas one running! I've only cut up a few trees, but it is very powerful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All in with Greenworks! So much easier to use. This is my sixth Greenworks tool in the 80v line and I’m all in! I have the blower, the mower, the tiller, the hedge trimmer, the edger, and now this!

Did you redesign the chin oil lube spout so the cap/plug doesn't break the neck of the plastic reservoir? Male cap screwed into under designed female neck a very poor feature and a failure.

The saw says "HC optimized", but the batteries look like the standard old 80v batteries. They don't say "HC" on them like your 60v HC line up does. Is there going to be 80v HC batteries released in the near future?

Asked by: Deifox
Hello Deifox, Thank you for your question. Yes, this option for the GreenWorks 80v batteries will be available in the near future. We currently do not have a release date.
