Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome chainsaw! Cuts great! This chainsaw is awesome! I will never use a gas powered chainsaw again! Buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's so easy, I fell in love I seldom used our gas-powered chainsaw, maybe because it was scary but also because it was difficult to start and often needed carburetor repair from non-use (My bad!). So the Chainworks 80-volt is just what I needed: easy to start, no carburetor, and powerful enough to cut up large trees and cracked branches. After a heavy and wet snowstorm, I can go out and cut the broken limbs. After a windstorm downed a large tree in our front yard, I could cut it up into split-able pieces for firewood. The pile of dead branches is easily split for burning. No muss. No fuss. No gasoline-mixing. No fear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm done with gas engines! From the point of view of an occasional homeowner use, the Greenworks 80v chainsaw is certainly more than capable of cutting logs. The most striking feature is the silence in-between cuts, this is something to behold...you can't believe it until you witness it yourself. It's bizarre to be cutting logs, and put down the chainsaw for a moment and hear birds chirping. I loved my orange colored pro equipment, but I'm over the pull start, gas smell, and noise. Within a week of this purchase I bought the Greenworks 80v leaf blower and my other orange blower is on the shelf, I gave the chainsaw away. I look forward to moving all my gas powered equipment to this 80v world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All in with Greenworks! So much easier to use. This is my sixth Greenworks tool in the 80v line and I’m all in! I have the blower, the mower, the tiller, the hedge trimmer, the edger, and now this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than ATLAS chainsaw. This 16 inch 80v GREENWORKS chainsaw is much better than the 40v kATLAS 16 inch Chainsaw. I purchased the 40 volt ATLAS from Harbor Freight the performance was longer with the 80volt (48 minutes) and recharging quick (54 minutes). The chain kept loosening up on the ATLAS even though I tightened it to the point of almost stripping the threads. The GW had no problem with the chain. The GW cut through an old oak log like butter cutting cross-cut. I returned the ATLAS and will be keeping the GW.

An you interchange the 60 volt and 80 volt batteries.  Example.  Use the 60 volt battery in the 80 volt chainsaws

Asked by: Ladymax
Hello Ladymax, Unfortunately, you cannot cross voltage lines. Our 60V batteries can only be used in our 60V products and the same rule would apply to all voltage lines.

Is it ok to use the 5 AH 80 volt battery in this? I know that you discourage it in the 18" model. I'm wondering if it's more balanced with the 16" since the battery placement is horizontal instead of vertical.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, Yes, you could use an 80V 5.0Ah battery.

What's the horsepower? I'm comparing it to the Stihl 311 specs: DISPLACEMENT 59.0 cc (3.6 cu. in.) ENGINE POWER 3.1 kW (4.2 bhp). I'm not clear what to compare the 45 cc from your spec too... is it the Displacement? What is your bhp?

Asked by: Glennn123
The conversion is 745 watts = 1 bhp so this would be equivalent to a 2 bhp gas engine.

The first two times I used this chainsaw I loved it, the third time the chain came off!!! I’ve put it back on a turned the knob to try to tighten but it keeps coming off! How do I fix this issue?

Asked by: Horse Gal
Hello Horse Gal, We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue with the chain not staying on. New chains tend to stretch; so be sure to check the chain tension frequently and tension as required. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer and finally the retaining ring. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us directly for assistance at 1-888-909-6757 or by sending an email to info@greenworkstools.com. We would be happy to look into why this may be happening.
