What does brushless mean?
A brushless unit is a unit that has a brushless motor. While conventional motors have brushes, traditional brushed motors have carbon brushes which tend to wear overtime. A brushless motor is superior to the traditional brushed motor. It’s a newer technology that Greenworks has incorporated into the heart of our brushless units. Brushless motors do not use carbon brushes, which allows the motor to last longer, produce less heat, offers more torque, are more efficient and use less battery power, therefore increasing your overall battery life and efficiency.
Where can I find warranty information?
Warranty information will be detailed inside your owner’s manual and on the product page of each tool. You can also refer to our warranty page here: https://greenworkstools.ca/pages/warranty
Why is there a delay when my unit starts?
Some of our units have a soft starter motor that delays the initial start for about a second and half. The soft starter feature protects the bearing and the motor from wear and helps preserve them for a longer life.
What does tool only mean?
A unit that is listed as tool only indicates that the unit will only come as a bare tool and will not include a battery or a charger.
Can I use a different Greenworks Amp hour (Ah) battery in my unit?
For most of our current units, if the batteries are from the same Greenworks voltage (24, 40v, 60v and 80v) line, the amp hours (Ah) are interchangeable. If you are unsure if your battery is part of a voltage line that can be interchanged, please contact us at
[email protected] for further assistance. *Exceptions for our Greenworks 60v 8.0Ah and certain chainsaws in the 80v line. *
Can I use Greenworks tools in the rain/damp conditions?
As we specialize in electric/ battery operated products, using our products in damp/wet conditions is a safety issue. Our tools should not be operated in the rain. However, our 60V X-RANGE line features IPX4 weather-resistant construction and can be safely used in damp conditions. Please be mindful of your footing when operating tools in potentially slippery conditions.
Can I store my unit outside?
No, storing an electric unit outdoors is not advisable as this can allow water/condensation to get into the electronics inside the units that may cause damage to the unit and render it a safety hazard. As with all electric units, we advise that you regularly clean the unit and store it in a dry, cool, and covered location, such as a garage or shed. Not only will this help protect the electrical components from exposure to moisture, but it will also help reduce the build-up of rust/corrosion on any of the metal parts.
Where can I find the serial number?
The serial numbers for our tools can be found on the label located on the unit itself. For pressure washers the label can be found on the back or under the handle. For mowers the label is located on the rear flap. For hedge trimmers, string trimmers, and chainsaws you can find it on the handle or shaft of the unit.
