Electric Riding & Zero Turn Mowers: Frequently Asked Questions

How many batteries do I need to start the machine?

At least three. The battery compartment has three columns, each controlling different functions: drive function, right blade function, and left blade function. You can operate the machine once each column has at least one battery.

What does the battery capacity shown on the display refer to?

The display can only show the battery capacity of the drive function. Check the batteries in the battery compartment for the battery capacity of the right or left blade.

Can I operate the machine on a slope?

Do not use on slopes greater than 15 degrees. Operators should not drive on a slope until they are thoroughly familiar with the equipment.

Why does the blade stop working when I leave the seat?

For the safety of you and your surroundings, you must be seated for the mower blade to work. Go back to the seat and once seated, push down on the PTO switch and then pull it up to restart the blade system.

How long will the machine work when the battery capacity is low?

The mower can drive about 0.6 miles once the battery that controls the drive function drops below 5%.

Why is the machine beeping?

If you leave the seat without turning off the machine, it will beep to remind you to turn it off.

Do I need to replace the gearbox oil? How often do I need to replace it?

Yes. Replace the gearbox oil after operating the machine for 50 hours.

Can I use other types of Greenworks batteries for the machine?

Yes. Check to make sure the battery voltage matches the machine before use. This unit will only recognize batteries above 4.0Ah.
