Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tears of Joy This was super easy to install, just needed to do a little tweaking to get the mow distance just right, and it does an outstanding job cutting the grass. My lawn is the same height all the time even when it rains for a week without the sweat and suffering from allergies. Bonus no grass clippings to bag or grass coming inside stuck to your shoes/pets, and you can enjoy the outdoors even when it is mowing because it is so quiet you can still hear the birds singing. I am so glad I took a chance on this as my lawn would have been a jungle by now thanks to a broken ankle. Have had almost a month so can't speak for durability.

I can't believe it works so well! this is great, finished mowing my .3 acres complex yard in about 2 days (I didn't mow it for over a week before receiving this unit lol), and now my yard is always level, as I watch my two neighbor's yards grow day after day. the setup was easy, and after tweaking the geofencing a little, this mower can now more on its own, or on my schedule. I mainly run out at night, because it's so quiet!

I bought the Optimow a few weeks ago and am enjoying the results, lawn looks better than ever, I used the scheduling wizard to set the mowing schedule, we named our mower Henry! No problems with setup, mowing, charging, or a slope in the whole back yard…the directions and website videos were so helpful and informative. I have never been so happy and excited to watch my lawn being mowed!

I got the 50H mower, and I was very excited to have it take away one of my most frustrating weekly 'to-do' items. 1st thing I tried was to get the app to link up to the mower. The blue cell tower symbol on the mower only blinks, and it never becomes solid which would mean that it connected to the 4G network. My wife has AT&T and I have Verizon, so we know there is GSM & CDMA coverage here. I even went as far as to be driven to different areas around town while I sat in the back seat with the mower on (not running of course), but it never connected to 4G one time. The blue signal only flashed the entire time. As of now, I can not use the app or set schedules which is a HUGE issue. Next up, I set up the base station and turned on the mower just to see it start cutting. It would back off of the station, and it immediately stopped and began an error beeping mode. I connected a boundary wire around a small test area, and this fixed that problem. It just won't run at all if it doesn't detect a boundary wire attached to the base station. I called customer service to get some help with the 4G not working, but the person who answered did not have any information on this mower. She couldn't even find anything with the model number I gave her. After a hold, she came back and said there was a special support team that helped on the robotic mowers. Unfortunately it was the weekend, and they only work on weekdays. She got my information, and said they would call me. It has been 5 days, and nobody has called. Meanwhile, I finished setting up my boundary wire in the backyard and let turned the mower loose. It runs on its own, recharges, and continues mowing non stop until I physically go out and shut it off. I have no complaints at all about the actual mowing of my yard. It did that part very well, and it is so ridiculously quiet. The fact that I can not connect to it through the 4G signal to get more use out of the mower, and the fact that I can not get support for a $1600 purchase really doesn't sit well with me. If it can't connect to 4G, that means it can't be found if somebody comes over and steals it too. I really think it was a complete miss that Greenworks did not include Bluetooth along with 4G, especially at this price. Not everyone lives where you can connect to 4G. Even if you do live in a really good 4G covered area (like me), this shows that the 4G connectivity in the mower isn't good enough to be its only form of communication. I REALLY want to love this. I own a ton of Greenworks tools, and I have never been let down by one until now with the tool that I am the most excited to use. Maybe I have a bad 4G board, or something inside the mower that I can not get to without voiding the warranty is not connected properly. This could be all that stands between disappointment and complete satisfaction. Support needs to definitely be better for these mowers, but I wouldn't need the support if it worked properly. I may end up returning this if it doesn't get resolved very soon. That is, if I can even talk to somebody to find out how to return it or fix the problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mows well, support and 4G are poor at best I installed this mower and it mows well enough but, ever since I got it, the mower has never been able to connect to 4G (light keeps blinking). I've been on the phone with support twice for over 2 hours and neither tech knew anything about this model. One basically read the manual to me like I hadn't thought to do that before calling. The other asked me if I had tried turning it off and on again then asked if I tried turning the Bluetooth off and on again. Come on, Greenworks! I'm seriously considering returning this very expensive robot if this is going to be the experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Missing parts The Specs says it is for lawn up to 1/2 acre. I have a 1/4 acre lawn and the included accessories were not enough to cover it. The included Boundary Wire is less than 1000', not stated 1300' . The included staples are 200 less than the stated 600. Don't count on the specs or the description of "what is included." The picture shows all you get in the package: three spools of boundary wire, two bags of staples. The picture shows the same content as the 25H model, yet it is $600 more than 25H.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible experience - No customer support ! When it works, it does a great job in mowing the lawn. However, mine did not last long! I received it last year, July 2021. After a month of use, the mower started to show some signs of electrical troubles. The mower stopped at least 1-2 times within an hour, showing the message "Front left loop sensor defect". I called support who told me that “this error code may occur when one of the boundary wires becomes damaged or disconnected” even though the LED status on the charging station was solid green. Around the same time, the Wi-fi LED light on the mower was intermittently flashing blue, already showing some signs of defect as well. I did not have the time to look further at this last year, and just put it away for the winter. Early this summer, I installed it back and completely replaced the boundary wires; The LED status on the charging station is green and of course that did not fix the issues. The mower still stops randomly in the middle of lawn once in a while, and in addition to that, it can no longer connect the internet (constant flashing blue Wi-Fi LED). I sent many emails to support with no answer. I also called the support line and after being on hold for 95 min I finally talk to someone, who however had no knowledge about these mowers. He was just taking notes and said a professional will call me back. This was 3 days ago, no one has called. In the same time you cannot get it fixed/or return it under warranty until you call our Customer Care team and receive a Return Authorization from Greenworks. How ironic is that !

Can it use a Signal transmitter/perimeter switch to mow a separate area?

Why is the support staff not trained on this mower? Nobody knows anything about it and they continue to read the manual to me like I didn't already think to read it. This product does NOT have bluetooth but people keep telling me to turn on bluetooth.

Using the QR is the quickest and easiest way to pair your Optimow to your phone. The app will open a link onto your camera, simply point it at the QR code and the information will be automatically filled in. If you chose to PAIR MANUALLY you would see a screen with the same serial number and pairing code fields. You then simply type in the information from your Quick Guide and click CONTINUE. My back yard is a hill. How much of an angle can this handle?

I live in an area where cell phone reception is basically unavailable. Almost all of my remote equipment is handled over wi-fi and the internet. Is there another way to control the mower? I do have service for my cell phone via the internet and wi-fi.

This gives you access to your GreenGuide app no matter where you are. Bluetooth is localized connectivity, basically, if you can see the product you can connect to it.

Hello AJayM, While most other robotic mowers feature Bluetooth connectivity, Optimow® connectivity utilizes 4G networks in North America. This gives you access to your GreenGuide app no matter where you are. Bluetooth is localized connectivity, basically, if you can see the product you can connect to it. This is fine for a speaker, but not if you want to change your mower schedule while at a conference halfway across the country. Faster speeds and more reliable global access allow you to monitor your mower as well as receive push notification errors directly to your smartphone from anywhere in the world.

What is the cost to extend the cellular plan after the two year service plan runs out? Are you able to create zones to direct mowers to areas difficult to navigate along the guide wire?

Hello Chris75, The app is free for 2 years and then will be ~$29.99 / yr after! Yes, the guidewire is used for a safe and quick return to the charging station if you have narrow passages or to assist the mower in navigating to remote /difficult areas. The guidewire needs to be connected to the boundary wire in one end and to the charging station in the other end.
