Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Vac/Blower I bought this to replace my old corded blower from 20 yrs ago. I was Amazed at how powerful it is. I was also shocked that it came with a 4.0 ah battery. The battery charged up fast and we used it not long after getting it. It actually blew off soaked wet leaves from the patio. We thought it wasnt able to do this. Only dry leaves I thought. We made sure to get the vac version to vacuum up the leaves that got in the house that the sweeper we have does not pick up. This is a really great product that is even more powerful that my corded electric blower. The only negative is that it is very heavy. That big 4.0 battery is the reason, but we need the power.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great tool. Till it’s not. Have owned this tool for several months. Used occasionally. Worked great with the observation that the on switches are tiny and impossible to use with gloves. When I really put it to work recently, approximately two hours for two days, the same previously problem reviewed problem presented itself. Seems the on/off switch failed. Might actually be the safety switch which is not protected well and was full of leaves and dirt and stuck in one position. Attempted to clean it out with compressed air and manipulation and was eventually able to obtain free operation of the switch tab. Still not working. Hopefully customer service is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tool Great - Battery Life Sucks! The tool is great - the battery life is not. I can only do half my yard with one charge. I bought this blower because I have the 40V Cordless Lawnmower that uses the same battery. However, it doesn't drain the battery like the blower does - not at all. I had seen some poor reviews about the battery life, but thought it would be sufficient for my use and wanted to keep within the same battery compatible set. I wish Greenworks would develop a stronger version of their 40V battery with more life that would be backwards compatible for their products. Then give existing customers a discounted price for an upgrade to reward customer loyalty. THAT would be some excellent customer service! ;)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor performance It works well as a blower. It sucks as a vacuum. But it’s still useful and very easy to use. You might want to get extra batteries if you’re going to use it as a vacuum often. The vacuum gets stuck often specially if you’re vacuuming chunks of leaves...the interruption is annoying. It doesn’t work if the leaves are wet. It’ll work for damp leaves on the highest setting but then it kills your battery after 10 minutes. The bag doesn’t filter the dust so you’d have to wear a face mask. My hair and body was completely covered in dust after using it for 15 minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly designed on/off switch For the most part I am happy with vacuum/shredder. (I never use it as a blower.) Unfortunately, the recessed on/off button with its plastic cover is very hard to turn on or off. It is nicely water proof, but it is poor ergonomics. When cold weather arrived and I put on gloves, it became impossible. Every time I want to turn it on or off I have to take off my glove. Cold fingers make it even harder to push the switch. I really like the cordless feature and the battery is compatible with my lawn mower, but the on/off button is a major nuisance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Greenworks 40v Leaf Blower/Vacuum Rocks! I had a corded leaf blower/vacuum, but did not like to use. So, I did not use and it sat in my garage untouched for a few years. My wife asked me to clean the Cedar Elm leaves and seeds out of our backyard flower beds and I thought there has to be a better way than just using my blower. I have a Greenworks 60v mower and love it and went to the Greenworks website and ordered the GW 40v leaf blower/vacuum. I am so glad I did. It was easy to assemble and it rocks! I cleaned all the leaves and seeds from all the flower beds in about 20 minutes. Plus it did not remove much of the mulch that happens with my blower. Definitely a great purchase! Gives me more time to relax in my backyard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blower/vacuum that gets the job done. I have had this blower/vacuum for quite some time and have found it extremely easy to use and with power to spare. Sure makes the job a lot easier when you have a blower and vacuum all in one. It's lightweight too so that's a plus. Sure makes it nice when you don't have to worry about an electric cord. In my opinion this battery powered blower/vacuum is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t live without it. I love this tool and use it constantly. The deck, the patio, the driveway, the sidewalk, the porch, the gutters, my garage floor, etc.,,,I think you can get the idea...it is a workhorse and I use it a lot. It light and has a powerful blast of wind on the high setting when you need it and with the variable speed selector you can dial it down to get around stuff. I keep a spare battery for the long jobs and never run out of power. I liked it so much I bought one for son and son in law. Highly recommended

I just bought this and was eager to try it out as a mulcher. Though with a fully charged battery and everything assembled properly, it came on for a few seconds then stops and the light blinks green 3 times repeatedly and it does this numerous times. Why

Will this work with battery model 29282 40V

Asked by: thenuts3
Hello thenuts3, No, this is a GreenWorks G-Max 40v unit and requires GreenWorks G-Max/Elite 40v batteries for operation. Model 29282 is an older style 40v and will not be compatible with any of our G-Max/Elite units.

I own the 40 volt blower and love it but the last time I used it it went dead after about 45 minutes so I put it on the charger and the green light hoes on saying it is fully charged. Why?

Asked by: Ken2510
Hello Ken2510 - If the battery was just in use it is important to let the battery cool down before putting it on the charger. Putting a battery that was just in use onto the charger often results in a false full charge signal. Remove the battery from the charger and allow it to rest in a room temperature area for ~10-15 minutes before charging. If you find that you are still experiencing this issue after the battery has had plenty of time to rest, please kindly reach out to us through our website and email us directly for further assistance.

If the battery has a full charge and blower keeps turning off, does that indicate an overheating issue?

Asked by: MD1974
Hello MD1974, Yes, it could be that the battery may be too warm. Allow to cool and try again. If it's still not working then check to make sure everything is secured and in place e.g tubes and bags. This unit has two sensors ( bottom and front tube connection) if these two aren't properly connected/closed it will not turn on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA3z1PcuH6M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgSFC8fKDIM
