Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect power compact power source when 110 AC home current is required. This is such a useful compact power source when an small household appliance needs to have 110 AC current outside the home during camping or traveling. I have an air mattress that only has a house plug to power it. This inverter brings the power while camping to fill the air mattress inside the tent. It can power a small laptop computer, smartphones, and even a good size flatscreen TV. It is the perfect source of power away from home. The three hundred watts is just enough to power small tools or electronics. Just grab a 40 Volt GMax battery and this inverter and have power at the campsite. I love this little gadget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good inverter, one significant limitation Works as advertised. Set 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons: 1. The "modified square wave" is another way of saying that the AC sine wave is not a nice or smooth sine wave, it is a square or "boxy" sane wave . That is the cheapest way of doing it, and is well-known to produce RF interference (e.g., noise on radios and TV). I would gladly pay extra for a filtered AC output. 2. It is called "Tool Only", which is ambiguous. It is intended that means the inverter is sold without a battery; so that the inverter is the "tool". Because of the RF interference, the AC line is really for tools (e.g., drill, coffee grinder, fan) and not for electronics (e.g., radio, TV, audio equipment). Essentially, the inverter is "for tool only" use. So, it should be marked "battery sold separately", not "tool only".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well for most applications I have used this a couple of times and it works well. One thing to be aware of is that this (and all inverters like this) cause a significant amount of radio interference. If you plan to run a radio off of this, you will get significant static. Again, that is all inverters like this, not just this product.

Why don’t you market the portable power docking power bank which has capability to connect/combine more than one battery (I.e 40v , 60v, 80v) If you can market this innovative power bank, it will extract more buyers like me as I camping off grid a lot

How long would this 40 v 300 watt inverter run a 60 watt led grow light .

Asked by: namtreb
Hello namtreb - Thank you for taking the time to ask your question. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with an exact number of hours the inverter can power your grow light on a full charge without more information. This answer would depend on the draw from the light and size of the battery being used. I can however provide you with a formula for estimating run time. *Please note, this is a rough indication of run time. What is the W requirement of the grow light? What is the Wh of the battery the inverter is going to be run off? Once you have those figures divide Wh by W. That should give you the run time in hours. Multiply by 60 for the run time in minutes. Hope this helps!

Is this supposed to make any click noise like it's in place when slid onto the battery? I just ordered one, but when I slide it on the battery, it is not doing anything! I tried plugging something in and flipping the switch, and nothing.

Asked by: Hanmar
Hello Hanmar, The inverter is equipped with Type A and Type B AC power receptacle. Plug the cord from the equipment you wish to operate into the AC receptacle. The LED lights indicate the work condition of the power inverter. The green LED indicator lights to indicate that the inverter is functioning. Make sure the combined load requirement of your equipment does not exceed inverter’s output rating. The inverter is engineered to be connected directly to standard electrical and electronic equipment in the manner described above. Do not connect the power inverter to household or RV AC distribution wiring. Do not connect the power inverter to any AC load circuit in which the neutral conductor is connected to ground (earth) or to the negative of the DC (battery) source.

Is the USB DC output well regulated?  In other words, is it straight DC-DC conversion without the square wave issues of the AC output?

Asked by: Andy L
Yes, the AC is a modified square wave (typical of "tool" inverters.  But the USB cannot be a modified sine wave -- it's a 5V DC line.  And the GW inverter has USB charging outputs -- which are DC, not AC.  My question is about the quality and ripple of the 5V DC line.  If it's DC to DC conversion, then it should be very stable.  As for the AC line, I would like for it to consist of many more steps in a single wave, and then filter that.  Then the AC line does not have to be "Tool" quality.  The GW 60V inverter seems to have that, but everything I have here is 40V, and I'd like to use the batteries and chargers that I already have from GW.

Can you use the 60v battery for this inverter? If not is there a 60v inverter or generator that would use the 60v?

Asked by: ElChefe
Hello there, No this power inverter is only compatible with the 40V G-MAX batteries. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a power inverter in another voltage line.
