Do you have a chainsaw that will operate off my 60 volt greenworks battery?

Asked by: RonH21
Hello RonH21, At this time we are currently out of stock on our 60v tool only chain saw. They can be viewed using the following link: https://www.greenworkstools.com/60v-cordless-18-chainsaw-with-4-0-ah-battery-1. In the meantime, you may enter your email into the appropriate field on the battery pages so that you can be notified as soon as the stock has been replenished. *Please note, that optimal weight distribution requires use of either our 2.0Ah or 2.5Ah batteries. This process also reduces the chance of kickback when saw in in use.

Will this chainsaw take my 80v battery SnGWZ0792624

Asked by: Ray 5298
Hello Ray5298, All 80v battery can power the chainsaws however, larger batteries are not recommended as optimal weight distribution requires the use of either our 2.0Ah or 2.5Ah batteries. This will also reduce the chance of kickback when saw in in use. I hope this helps!

I have the 80v chainsaw. Left of the power on button is a red signal dot. What is that for? It comes on the saw shuts off. Is it a battery overheat signal?

Asked by: Robert17
Hello Robert17, This is a general fault indicator. It can come on for may reasons including stall prevention, motor overheat/overdraw, chain brake engaged, PCB issue. If the unit restarts after it cuts out then there is no issue. It was most likely a safety function. If the unit does not restart after it cuts out then please contact us at 1-888-909-6757 or by email to info@greenworkstools.com for further assistance.

How much does this unit weigh with the battery installed?

Asked by: Jj1718
Hello Jj718 - The weight of the saw with battery would depend on the battery being used. If using a 2.0Ah battery, the product weighs 13.7 lbs (6.21 kg).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than gas! I ordered one of these because my brother had one and said it was good. He didn't even come close to covering it! Gas chainsaws are a pain. You need to mix the fuel. You need to bring extra fuel with you when you go in the woods. Corded chainsaws are under powered, and you need to stay close to a power source, or have a generator. My Greenworks 80 volt chainsaw is just as powerful as any gas chainsaw I've used, and the fuel is easy. Charge it up for 30 minutes and you've got a full "tank". I used it for three hours before having to recharge the battery! I'm never going back to gas chainsaws again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not everything it is cracked up to be... I had high hopes. I expected to much. The chain jumps off constantly. This is a real time problem. The chain compartment is held down by two bolts, so every time the chain jumps off you have to unbolt 2 bolts, realign chain saw, and tighten 2 bolts. I have a Ryobi that has one allen wrench bolt and is much easier to fix the chain. I have Wax Myrtel bush that has flaky bark. When I try to cut the bark the saw skips and jumps. I have also had the same problem with tree trunks. I have seen gas saws work much better, but unfortunately I made the wrong choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Ease of Use I love the ease-of-use of electric. I don't use a chainsaw very much, but when I need it, I really need it (think hurricanes). So not having to clean the carburetor because I forgot to run the gas out, or change a fowled spark plug, is a big deal. To just grab it once every 3 months, glance at the chain oil level (visible through clear tank), press the power button, and GO, and have it work instantly, is magical. Plus it has plenty of torque to do the job. And with two 80 volt batteries (which I also use on my other electric tools), I always have enough power. The motor is louder than I thought it would be, but still quieter than gas equivalent saws. Also, it is hugely less polluting than gas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just some feedback I got an email from Greenworks asking for a review (with the $750 incentive) and I spent time crafting a pretty lengthy review for an 80v blower that I purchased. I submitted it and a few days later got an email back stating that the moderator denied it. No 'thank you', no choice to edit (I tried the edit link but did not work) and no incentive to write another review. I wanted to give you this feedback as chances are some will not even bother. I do like your tools and will continue to purchase. Phil

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sufficient power My gas-powered chain saw beast gummed up on me, and after success with the Greenworks 84V blower, I bought the 18" chainsaw. I felled my 35 food tall, nearly dead cherry tree without a hitch, trimmed it up, and cut the trunk (as wide in diameter as the blade at it's widest) into firewood sized pieces. I had plenty of power, I liked the weight balance, and I only had to stop every now and then to change batteries and fill the chail oil reservoir. I loved the convenience of not having to pull the start cord or mess with mixed gasoline. I think this saw will serve me well. I had a professional tree feller taking down a 65' spruce for me at the same time, and he was impressed with the power of my Greenworks saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a hot knife through butter! I purchased a Greenworks pole saw and loved it so much, I bought a weed trimmer too. After hurricane Sally came through, I needed a real chain saw. Naturally came back to Greenworks and got their 18" 60v battery powered saw. This saw is every bit as good as my old gas saw and I don't have to pull it till it starts or mix gas again. This saw went through an 10" pine tree that jad come down like a hot knife through butter!!! Literally!!! It only took about 4sec to cut through the tree trunk! I love it and would highly recommend this saw to anyone that needs a great chain saw!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 80v 18in chain saw It works well (very simple) but the weight distribution isn’t great for limbing at shoulder height or higher. It does seem to really go through chain oil and continues to have it leak when not running so make sure to store it without chain oil in it or put a rag under the chain housing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase, No more gas mixing I had a couple gas chainsaws and was tired of the gas mixing and carb cleaning, so I wanted to give this a try. I have but about 1/2 cord or maybe a bit more, of wood so far and I am pleased with it. The battery could last a little longer, but I am in no hurry and it is a good time for a break once a recharge is needed. Keep an eye on the chain oil. I need to refill about every 2 charges. When brand new, be sure to adjust the chain frequently as there is some stretch. It is super easy and the tool is right there in the handle, so it does not take any time at all.
