Regarding just the saw itself (i.e., other than the battery and charger) what differences are there between this saw (Model 2016802AZ, 40V BRUSHLESS 16" CHAINSAW W/ 4.0 USB BATTERY) and Model 2009702 - 40V CORDLESS 16" CHAINSAW W/ 6.0 AH BATTERY?

Asked by: Rob62
Hello Rob62, These products are very similar in terms of performance. The 2016802AZ is, however, a brand new model while 2009702 was originally released a few seasons ago. 2009702 is a part of the Elite line and comes with a 6.0Ah battery which would produce a longer run time than the 4.0Ah battery that comes with model 2016802AZ. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat battery saw Very impressive chainsaw. Ist project was cutting up a 18 inch log, just let the saw go at it’s own pace. I give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality Chainsaw I already have the 40v hedge trimmer and it’s been working great for 4 years, so I picked this up so I’d have 2 batteries. The quality seem less very good, they’ve made some enhancements in the battery since my last tool, but still fully interchangeable. I’ll update this again once I get some real usage out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for general property maintenave This is a great tool to have on hand for general property maintenance, like brush clearing and trimming small limbs off trees. I especially like it’s ease of use, without having to deal with fuel and two stroke oil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations! I live on a 2 acre heavily treed lot that needs periodic pruning and, at times, tree removal. I started looking at and comparing gas powered chainsaws and ran across many professional "chainsaw tests" that included battery powered saws. To my surprise, the testers ranked the Greenworks saws at the top along with the gas saws. I came to the conclusion that my chainsaw is something I will use a few weeks a year and the rest of the time it will sit in the garage. My mind immediately went to the dreaded task of trying to start a gas chain saw after it has sat for 6 months. Not to mention the vibration, noise level and exhaust smell. So I decided battery powered was the best fit for me. After way too much research and comparing Greenworks with another brand, I decided on this Greenworks saw based on 1) Price 2) Performance in the tests and 3) the other tools in the 40v family are also affordable. It would be easy to grow into some of the other tools in the Greenworks brand. I've cut probably 12 hours over several weekends now - I love this saw!!! I’ve already sharpened the blade once. The saw completely blew away my expectations. I know the tests results that I read said it performed as well as the gas… but I guess for some reason I expected “less” than gas. It cuts with ease through massive trees and all different types of wood. I probably cut down 5 trees and made well over 100 cuts before I was tired and had to take a break… the battery on this thing was still going strong. I put the battery on the charger while I took a break and then I started back up with an additional battery I had purchased. With 2 batteries, this saw could go all day and outlast me. (the batteries will not charge when they are warm, so I put the battery in the fridge for 10 minutes and then put it on the charger). Pros: Quiet. Smooth – no vibration. Easy to maneuver and hold. Easy to adjust the chain (as it works just like a gas saw). Oil reservoir is easy to access and fill. Cons: The battery can’t charge when it’s warm. But a few minutes in the fridge fixed that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This chain saw is very easy to use ! I have a small fire wood business and I have three gas powered saws and was looking for lite weight saw to do small job's around the wood yard. I was going to get another small gas powered saw but I started to check out different battery saw and I decided to go with this model. I received it charged it up and took it out to the wood yard, to my surprise this saw could cut some wood ! I bucked up four medium sizes 10' logs before it ran out of battery power. This is a game changer for my business and my back LOL !!!
